Sunday May 30 @ 11:00 Mass
St. Philip will honor our graduating college and high school seniors with a blessing at the 11:00 am Mass on Sunday, May 30. The graduates and their families are then invited into the parish hall for a luncheon to celebrate their accomplishments.
If you have a graduating senior who would like to be included in this special day, please e-mail or text Becky Pursell; bpursell@stphilip.cc or 713-516-7376.
We invite young people into responsible participation in the life, work, and mission of the Church. This ministry is truly dedicated to our young people, and we believe it's a blessing for the entire faith community.
Our St. Philip youth ministry is a family of young Catholics, committed to the goal of living out the call of the Gospels. Through fellowship, prayer, and service, we assist our youth in becoming the young men and women God created them to be. Our young people strive to know Christ deeply, understand His constant love for them, and share that love with those around them.
Our 6th – 8th grade students participate in archdiocesan gatherings as well as our local parish service projects, retreats, and special events.
Our 9th - 12th grade students meet monthly for afternoons or evenings of fun, faith, and fellowship. Pizza is provided as we discuss upcoming events and learn to actively live our faith. In addition, the group participates in monthly service and faith-building outings where they actively witness the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy. Also, our youth attends the Archdiocesan Youth Conference in Houston every summer.
Activities are communicated to the students via smartphone app, e-mail, flyers, and the Spirit and Truth Sunday newsletter.
