Continuing Christian Education (CCE)
Our dedicated catechists strive to share with students the one, true Faith in age-appropriate ways. The program serves our middle school aged students and teens in grades 6-12 and includes: weekly classes, special projects, youth group activities, sacramental preparation, retreats, service projects, prayer experiences and a yearly opportunity to be a counselor for our summer Vacation Bible School.
CCE also aims to support and assist parents, encouraging them to embrace their role as primary educators and to partner with the parish in their children’s faith formation. The CCE program helps children grow: in love of God and His Church; in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ; in knowledge of Scripture and Sacred Tradition; and in fellowship with their classmates. The program counts on our generous catechist volunteers. They, in turn, grow in their knowledge and love of the Faith and in fellowship with our parish families and the rest of the CCE team.

Registration for the 2025-2026 year will be open on June 1st and run through October 1st. Please check back for additional information.
Confirmation Preparation
During a two-year program, St. Philip helps high school students prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
To be admitted to the Confirmation program;
- The family must be registered parishioners of St. Philip the Apostle parish
The teen must be a freshman, sophomore or junior in high school
The teen and family must participate in weekly Mass
If the teen has not yet received the sacraments of Baptism, First Reconciliation or Holy Eucharist, special arrangements will be made.
During the Confirmation program, students will choose a patron saint name. There are two options:
- Students can select their baptismal name (either first name or middle name) if it is the name of a saint.
Making this choice shows the connection of Confirmation with the other sacraments of initiation in the
Catholic Church (Baptism and First Eucharist). Choosing the baptismal name is a way to recognize the
growth of the student in his / her faith and a firm commitment to continue that growth.
Students can choose a different saint’s name. Doing so symbolizes a connection to a particular saint
and a new beginning in the life of faith. During the anointing with Chrism Oil, the student will be called
by this new name, which will symbolize a renewed commitment to the Faith.
Students will also choose a Confirmation sponsor. For more information about the Confirmation program, please see contact the CCE Office or call the parish office.
