January 14, 1977 Decree erecting St. Philip the Apostle Parish; 100 families represent the parish.
February 13, 1977-78 Mass is celebrated at the Huffman Middle School cafetorium
September 18, 1977 Bishop John L. Morkovsky presides at the ground breaking
May 1978 First parish structure is completed. The new building includes worship space, six small classrooms and the rectory.
December 24, 1978 First Mass is celebrated on Christmas Eve.
August 25, 1979 Bishop John L. Morkovsky dedicates the church
1987 A new worship space is constructed, and the original space becomes the parish hall. A custom built, nine octave M.P. Moller pipe organ is installed.
July 1, 1989 Father George Olsovsky establishes a children’s religious education program.
September 1992 Eucharistic Adoration is established, and then matures into 40 hour devotion.
1993, 1994 Statues of the Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Divine Grace are installed
2003 The parish hall kitchen is remodeled
January 25, 2003 Parishioner John E. Schuster is ordained to diaconate
July 10, 2004 Parishioner Brady Williams is ordained to priesthood
January 31, 2005 Father George Olsovsky retires after 15 years at St. Philip
February 1, 2005 Father Trung V. Nguyen is assigned temporary administrator
July 1, 2005 Father Richard Barker is assigned as administrator
October 9, 2005 Father Richard Barker is assigned as pastor
August 28, 2017 Hurricane Harvey floods the campus. Mass is celebrated at The Overlook Country Club, with CCE classes held at Atascocita United Methodist Church.
August 12, 2018 Return to campus and Bishop George Sheltz dedicates a restored church.
September 20, 2019 Tropical Storm Imelda floods campus for the second time! Mass and CCE classes are held at Atascocita United Methodist Church.. Once again, the church is restored.
July 1, 2024 Father David Hust is assigned as administrator.
September 27, 2024 Father David Hust is assigned as pastor.
