Prime Timers ‘Humble-d’ August 25—visiting Humble, our neighboring City Mayor Norman Funderburk defined Humble’s 130 year history as a logging, cattle and later oil-boom town. We visited old downtown, the Charles Bender High School Performing Arts Center, and Lambrecht’s Artesian Well. Humble Museum—Saving the Past for the Future. Donations and steadfast drive led to an amazing display of self-guided artifacts, photos, and descriptions preserving their history. When you visit, dine at the Humble Café (hint: order anything fried!). Many thanks to our guide, Sharron Mittag, Mother Humble, for her hospitality and passion, preserving Humble’s history.
