Understanding: Truth incarnated in thought, word and deed; seeing things as they really are; prayerful self-reflection; formation of conscience; certainty of moral law; inmost renewal of heart; sensitivity to others. Right Judgment (Counsel): Informed, reasoned decision-making; correct knowledge concerning the things to be done; discernment of the good; obligation to defend the rights and ideas of God; defines the human person’s duties to God. Knowledge: Human reason instructed by faith; discovery that God alone names what is good or evil; knowing God's will and the true nature of human personhood; distinguishing what has value both on earth and in heaven. Courage (Fortitude): Praying for the “first grace” to do what must be done; acceptance of suffering; to risk one's life and peace for the compelling good of others; to correct human society and put it in right order. Reverence (Piety): Self-effacing humility before God; profound respect and devotion for the Church and her Scripture, Tradition & Magisterium; respect for all things sacred and Catholic; “be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” [Mt 5:48] Wonder and Awe (Fear of the Lord): the holy "fear of the Lord" [Psa 111:10] loving God for his own sake; redemptive love giving way to spousal love; the human creature kneeling before God to adore him; fullness of hope; kneeling to pray, You are God, I am not!
