Here is a message from Daniel Cardinal DiNardo to the Archdiocese, March 17, 2020 concerning the COVID-19 (coronavirus):

• “MASS:  The public celebration of all weekday and Sunday Masses will be suspended in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Churches are to remain open for individual and private prayer observing their normal hours, as discerned by the Pastors.
• “HOLY WEEK: Particular directives will be given for Holy Week in the event the crisis continues through that time period.
• “FUNERALS: Funerals may take place only in the form of ‘The Rite of Committal with Final Commendation’ (also known as the ‘graveside’). A memorial Mass can be scheduled appropriately at a later date.”

As we all use good judgement to limit our contact with other people in a public place, I hope you will take the opportunity to find peace and quiet with our Lord in prayer.  Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.
